Covid warrior

This week, I was posted in the COVID ICU—an experience unlike other ward duties.

The hustle and urgency were greater than usual.
Some days, I felt powerful when a timely procedure changed the fate of a patient. And some days, I felt helpless because there was nothing that could be done externally.

But most of all, I felt responsible and concerned, especially in such times when anxiety peaks and hope feels distant.

I have seen young patients succumb to the illness, and I have seen elderly patients recover and return to normal.

The only difference is one’s mindset.
The opposing force may try to break you, but don’t lose heart. Don’t give in to your illness.

In all, I’d say—focus on the positive.
Focus on getting well, and your body shall heal faster.

Hope is all there is. So choose hope. Every single time. Choose hope.
